Anne Morrissey Named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of AmeriHealth Mercy
Philadelphia, PA – Michael A. Rashid, President and Chief Executive Officer of the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, today announced that Anne Morrissey has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. AmeriHealth Mercy is the largest organization of Medicaid managed care plans and related businesses in the United States, touching the lives of more than 6.5 million members.
"Anne is a proven leader who has brought tremendous focus and strength to our operating units, raising them to a high level of performance and service," said Rashid. "We are thrilled to have her in the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, where she will be able to expand her success throughout the enterprise."
Morrissey is responsible for corporate oversight of the Medicaid health plan operations in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Indiana. She also oversees PerformCare, a behavioral health subsidiary, and PerforMED, an intensive care management program for chronically ill members.
Prior to her new role, Ms. Morrissey was AmeriHealth Mercy’s Chief Operating Officer and President of Pennsylvania Managed Care, which includes Keystone Mercy Health Plan in Southeast Pennsylvania and AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan in Central Pennsylvania. Under her leadership, these health plans served more than 400,000 people.
Before joining AmeriHealth Mercy, Ms. Morrissey spent 14 years with a multi-line insurer based in Chicago, Illinois. She began with a company subsidiary that served their federal programs in Rockville, Maryland, and progressed through the organization to Vice President of Operations.
