America's Best Health Insurance Plans 2009-10 rates Passport Health Plan #13,
AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan #25, and Keystone Mercy Health Plan #26 for Medicaid Plans
Philadelphia, PA –Three Medicaid health plans associated with the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies were ranked among the top 30 Medicaid health plans nationwide for the second year in a row, according to U.S. News & World Report/NCQA’s America’s Best Health Insurance Plans 2009-10.
Out of nearly 200 Medicaid health plans in the nation, AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan in Harrisburg, PA, was ranked 25th. Keystone Mercy Health Plan in southeastern Pennsylvania improved nine places from 35th to 26th. Passport Health Plan, owned by University Health Care, Inc. in Louisville, KY., was ranked 13th. AmeriHealth Mercy serves as the third-party administrator for Passport Health Plan.

- Access to care, including a member’s ability to get needed care quickly and a health plan's customer service,
- Overall member satisfaction,
- Preventive services, including health screenings, prenatal care, childhood and adolescent immunizations and well-child visits,
- Treatment, how well the plan takes care of ongoing health problems,
- Overall quality score, a combination of the scores from the four main categories above, along with NCQA accreditation.
