Michael A. Rashid is the President and CEO of the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, a position he has held since January 2010. Under Mr. Rashid's leadership the company has embraced an ambitious strategy geared to building the reserves and infrastructure needed to achieve market leadership over the next five years. Rashid's Vision is that by 2015 AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies will be recognized as the national leader in developing healthcare solutions for the chronically ill and the underserved.

Prior to becoming CEO, Mr. Rashid served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies for 15 years. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Rashid oversaw the growth of the company from a single product HMO serving 500,000 in two states, to a family of companies with 4 distinct products operating in 12 states and serving over 2 million members. Mr. Rashid holds an MBA from Harvard University, and a BS in Marketing from the University of Southern California.
